Locked Out of Your Audi?

Keys locked inside, a fob that quit or a trunk that won’t open. We sort it out where your Audi is parked.
Audis are built tight. The doors seal well, the cabin is quiet, and that’s great until the key is sitting on the seat and the doors are locked. Around DC and the suburbs that usually means a Q5, Q3, Q7 or A5, parked in a driveway, an office garage or on a downtown street. Wherever yours is, we come to it, check your ID before we start and open it carefully.

We're known for excellence in mobile locksmithing.

What to Expect When You Call

Most people who call us are standing next to a locked car with a phone and not much else, so we keep the call short. Tell us the model, the year and where you are, and you get a price and a realistic arrival time before we hang up. A mobile technician comes to you, checks your government issued ID and then opens your Audi with automotive entry tools. We work Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm, and the number is (855) 588-0198.

Proper Entry Tools

Coat hangers and slim jims belong in the past. Our technicians use automotive entry tools made to open a door without bending the frame or tearing the weatherstripping.

Price Before We Drive Out

Tell us the Audi model, the year and where it's parked. You get a quote on the phone, and that's what you pay unless you ask us for extra work.

ID Check Up Front

Before the technician starts on the door, we ask to see a government issued ID. It takes a few seconds and keeps us from opening a car for someone it doesn't belong to.

Careful Around the Electronics

Modern car doors hold wiring, airbag sensors and window motors. We work slowly around them, and if your Audi calls for a different approach, we say so before we start.

No Hidden Fees

The quote covers the lockout. If we find something else once we're at the car, like a broken key stuck in the lock, we explain it and give you the price before doing anything about it.

Key Lost Instead of Locked In

If the key is gone for good, ask about a replacement when you call. We'll check what your Audi model needs, and if it's a key we can cut and program, the technician we send brings the equipment for it.

How We Open a Locked Audi

Lock picking tools
Every Audi key has a small metal blade tucked inside. On many models the driver’s door lock hides behind a cap under the handle, and the blade pries that cap off, which is handy when the fob battery dies. It’s no help with the fob locked inside, and that’s when you need us. The A5 Sportback and A7 have frameless door glass, and on those we keep every bit of pressure away from the top edge of the window.

Before You Call: Quick Checks for Audi Owners

Open the myAudi app and see whether remote lock and unlock is active on your car. Some recent models include Audi connect CARE for years, and it covers exactly this. If the app isn’t set up, the spare key is your next best bet. And if the key fob has been slow to respond lately, mention it when you call.

Audi Trunk and Hatch Lockouts

Open car trunk in a field
Keys dropped in the trunk while you loaded the groceries, a hatch that won’t release, or a trunk lock that stopped turning. On most cars the quickest way in is through a door, then the trunk release or the fob. If your Audi has no inside release, we work on the trunk lock itself, and if that lock is damaged, we tell you what it needs before we touch it. Call (855) 588-0198 and tell us what’s going on.

How Our Audi Lockout Service Works

1. You Call Us

Call (855) 588-0198 and tell us where you are, what you drive and what happened. You get a quote and a realistic arrival time on the same call.

2. A Technician Heads Out

We send a mobile technician to the address you gave us. If anything changes on our side, we call to let you know.

3. ID Check First

Before any work starts, the technician asks to see a government issued ID.

4. Opening the Door

The technician looks over the door and lock, then opens your Audi with automotive entry tools, carefully and without forcing anything.

5. Keys Back in Hand

Once the door is open, you get your keys back and can check that everything inside is as you left it.

6. A Final Check

We make sure the locks on your Audi work as they should before we leave, and you pay the price you were quoted.

Common Audi Lockout Situations

No two lockouts are exactly alike, but most Audi calls come down to one of these.

Keys Locked in Your Audi

The keys are on the seat or in the cupholder and every door is locked. Smart key cars try to prevent it, but a fob in a bag or a door locked by hand can still get past that.

Audi Key Fob Not Working

A weak fob battery or a flat car battery can leave the buttons doing nothing. We open the door by hand, and from there you can check the fob battery or the car battery.

Audi Trunk Lockout

Keys in the trunk, or a trunk that won't release with the button or the fob. We usually get in through a door first and go from there.

Broken Key in a Audi Lock

An old or worn key can snap off in the door lock or the ignition. We extract the broken piece and let you know whether the lock or the key needs attention afterward.

Lost or Stolen Audi Key

If the key is gone, opening the door is only the first step. Mention it when you call so we can check what a new key for your model involves and send a technician equipped for it.

Lost or Damaged Audi Key?

What a replacement key involves depends on the year. Older cars take a plain cut key. Most cars built since the late 1990s have a transponder chip in the key, and many newer ones use a remote head key, a flip key or a smart key. The technician we send can cut and program many of these on site. If your model needs a key we can’t make on site, we’ll tell you on the phone rather than send someone out.

Audi Lockout Questions

Often it is. A weak fob battery is one of the most common reasons an Audi stops responding at the door. We’ll get you in either way, and once you’re inside you can try the fob with a fresh battery. If it still won’t work, the fob may need replacing, and we can talk about that on the call.

Leave the broken piece where it is and don’t try to turn what’s left. We remove it with extraction tools, check that the lock still works, and talk you through a new key if you need one.

Our mobile technicians cover Maryland, Washington DC and Northern Virginia, working out from Silver Spring to Baltimore, Frederick and Prince William County. We also serve San Diego County in California.
